Pregnant Missouri Mom Found Slain in Her Wentzville Residence; Husband Arrested for Domestic Violence

Missouri authorities are looking into the deadly shooting of a mother of two, who was pregnant with twins, discovered murdered in her residence last month.

Local police reported that BreAnna Johnson, 28, was discovered deceased at her home in Wentzville, Mo., on October 31.

Wentzville police have reported the arrest of 39-year-old Darryl Tyson Jr. on October 31. He faces charges of domestic violence stemming from an incident that occurred the day before the shooting. No charges have been filed against him regarding the murder.

Authorities launched an investigation around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 31 after receiving a report of a shooting at a residence on Katie Lynn Court, according to the police statement.

Johnson was discovered dead at the location, while her two children were found to be physically unharmed. Authorities have detained Tyson for inquiries, according to police reports.

Johnson’s mother stated that she was four months pregnant with twins when the incident occurred, as reported by First Alert 4. According to the fundraiser, Tyson is the father of two children: one is 6 months old and the other is almost 2 years old.

Janette Giddens, the victim’s mother, claims that Johnson endured physical abuse and suffered “brutal beatings” at the hands of Tyson.

Johnson was said to be looking for assistance from a group that aids victims of domestic violence, according to FOX 2 Now.

Dr. Cynthia Bennett, the founder of the Journey Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse, shared with the outlet that Johnson sought their assistance in January while she was seven months pregnant with her other child.

Police were called to her home the day before the incident due to a domestic dispute, according to First Alert 4, referencing unnamed court documents. Tyson faced allegations of “throwing a phone that hit Victim 1 in the head” during the incident.

Wentzville police are collaborating with the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to explore additional charges against Tyson related to Johnson’s death.

According to police, Tyson is being held on a bond of $500,000. It remains uncertain whether he has submitted a plea or secured legal representation.
