Drunk Man Threatened and Held Woman against Her Will; Arrested after Victim Called 911

Authorities report that a woman in Brazoria County texted 911 late Saturday night while being held captive by a drunk driver.

A woman contacted dispatchers at approximately 10:30 p.m. to inform them that she was in a vehicle with 36-year-old George Peters from Houston, who had made threats to kill her.

Authorities report that she couldn’t make a phone call because of the dangerous situation, so she used the Text to 911 service to notify them.

Law enforcement was able to safely rescue the victim after the Brazoria County Telecommunications Team promptly relayed the information and pulled the vehicle over on State Highway 288.

Peters faces several charges, including unlawful restraint, exposing someone to serious bodily injury, unlawfully carrying a weapon, making terroristic threats against a family or household member, and driving while intoxicated. An emergency protection order has been put in place.
