A mother and her partner have been taken into custody facing allegations of child abuse and sexual assault involving their three daughters.

On Wednesday, the Springville Police Department launched an investigation following a report from the Utah Division of Child and Family Services.

A victim has come forward with multiple allegations of sexual abuse against her stepfather.

The victim reported that the abuse lasted over seven years and only ceased after an incident involving the abuse of her younger sibling was reported to authorities.

Charging documents reveal that another case of abuse involving a stepfather and an 11-year-old in the family has been reported to DCFS and law enforcement.

Officials reported that the 11-year-old altered her account after first speaking out.

A mother has been taken into custody after authorities claimed she failed to report the abuse of her three daughters.

The officer’s report reveals that the mother acknowledged her awareness of the abuse involving her three daughters and admitted to having witnessed it several times over the past four years.

The mother and stepfather are being held without bail. A woman has been charged with felony witness tampering, obstruction, and child abuse.

The stepfather was charged with 13 counts of first-degree felonies, including rape and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
