A Houston teen linked to a deadly shooting from two months prior is now in custody.
A 17-year-old named Cristian Gasca Martinez faces murder charges following the shooting death of 37-year-old Osvaldo Casas.
A crime took place at approximately 12:25 a.m. on August 10 close to a residence at 611 Loper St. in southeast Houston.
Houston Police Department officials arrived at the scene soon after the incident and discovered Casas unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived and confirmed his death at the location.
Judith Molina, the wife of Casas, who was eight months pregnant at the time, mentioned that he stepped outside after getting a call from a neighbor regarding a suspicious vehicle on their street. Their vehicle had been vandalized the previous night, putting them on high alert. Reports suggest that Casas was shot during an encounter with the individuals in the vehicle.
New findings point to Gasca Martinez as the alleged shooter. On Thursday, Oct. 17, he was taken into custody without any issues and processed at Harris County Jail.
