One count of child abuse has led to the indictment of two former daycare providers in Alabama.

Charlena Shunquaile Shinn, 46, of Eight Mile, and Charleszetta Denise Washington, 31, of Semmes, are each charged with one count of abusing children.

Shinn and Washington are charged with hitting and smashing a child into a table and hurling a book at a child, respectively, according to their indictments.

Their arrests came about as a result of a secret indictment issued by the District Attorney’s Office for Mobile County.

The two ladies are ex-daycare workers, according to a DA’s office representative, who was unable to identify whose daycare the women had worked at. They were also sacked from their position.

After posting their $10,000 bond, both women were let out of jail.
