A man has been taken into custody in Naugatuck on allegations of child abuse involving his four-month-old child, according to police reports.
Authorities in Naugatuck reported receiving a notification from the Department of Children and Families (DCF) on August 12 regarding an investigation into allegations of abuse concerning an infant.
A four-month-old infant was brought to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center with unexplained injuries. Authorities reported that the baby suffered injuries to the ribs, legs, and ear.
Authorities have secured an arrest warrant for the father of the child, 31-year-old David Alexander, hailing from Naugatuck. On Wednesday, he was taken into custody.
Alexander is confronted with serious allegations, including first-degree reckless endangerment and putting a child at risk of injury. He was detained with a bond set at $200,000 and made a court appearance on Thursday.
