An ex-NFL player allegedly urinated on an elderly woman during a flight from Boston to Ireland, causing the plane to turn back, according to officials.
Gosder Cherilus, a former Detroit Lions offensive tackle, appeared in East Boston District Court on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing a flight crew, and resisting arrest.
A flight, Delta Flight 154, departed from Boston Logan International Airport with a delay of over 3½ hours. However, it unexpectedly turned back and landed back in Boston, according to airline data published on FlightAware.
According to court documents, Cherilus was reportedly dissatisfied with his seat assignment in 3D.
While the plane was flying above Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cherilus approached a 78-year-old woman in seat 4C and engaged in inappropriate behavior, as described in the court documents.

According to the documents, witnesses attempted to intervene by physically restraining the individual and urging them to return to their seat.
According to court documents, Cherilus got into a heated argument with a 68-year-old man from Utah who was sitting in seat 3D. The altercation escalated when Cherilus allegedly struck the man with his right hand. According to documents, the action came to a halt when Cherilus returned to his seat, 3D, and subsequently passed out.
