Allison Havemann-Niedrach, a former special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, recently had a court appearance in Monmouth Superior Court.
She is facing serious charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Judge Christie Bevacqua presided over the August 8 hearing, which was the first court appearance since the initial detention hearing.
As reported by the Asbury Park Press and Jersey Shore Online, assistant prosecutor Danielle Zanzuccki revealed in court on Friday, July 5, that a significant number of text messages were exchanged between the suspect and the 15-year-old boy.
According to a report from Jersey Shore Online, the authorities were given access to the boy’s phone after a consent form was signed, allowing them to search it as part of their investigation.
Zanzuccki reported that the student mentioned to a friend that he was in a relationship with Havemann-Niedrach. According to Zanzuccki, another teacher reported witnessing the suspect engaging in inappropriate behavior with the victim.
The teacher observed the suspect rubbing the victim’s neck and back in a circular motion and noticed flirtatious behavior and physical contact between them.
Havemann-Niedrach continues to be confined to her parents’ house under the direction of Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano. Allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an eighth-grade student during her employment at Freehold Intermediate School led to this decision.
Havemann-Niedrach was accompanied to court by both her husband and elderly parents, who sat quietly during the brief legal proceedings. When asked for a comment, attorney Thomas Huth from the Law Offices of Jonathan F. Marshall chose not to speak on behalf of his client.
