Man found Guilty of Raping and Killing 9-year-old; To Be Executed by Chemical Injection after Supreme Court Verdict in Missouri

In a decision that was handed down on Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Missouri decided that Christopher Collings, who was found guilty of raping and killing a young girl of nine years old nearly twenty years ago, will be put to death in December.

It is planned that Collings will be put to death by a chemical injection on December 3 at six o’clock in the evening at the state penitentiary in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Rowan Ford, a student in the fourth grade who was reported missing from her home in Stella, Missouri, on November 3, 2007, was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. It was six days later when her body was discovered in a cave. The police reported that the youngster had been suffocated.

Tuesday saw the delivery of a message to Collings’ legal representative.

Over the course of this year, the state of Missouri has carried out the execution of two men: Brian Dorsey on April 9 and David Hosier on June 11. It is planned that Marcellus Williams will be put to death for the third time on September 24.

Williams has maintained his innocence for a long time, and the prosecutor for St. Louis County, Wesley Bell, has submitted a motion to revoke the sentence. He is contending that fresh evidence demonstrates that the knife used in the crime only contained the DNA of another individual, and not Williams’ DNA.

The 21st of August marks the beginning of an evidence hearing for Williams.
