A man from Polk County allegedly stabbed his roommate following a disagreement about fuel expenses for their shared vehicle.
A 36-year-old man, Maykol Fairnas Rodriguez, has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. The incident occurred in Davenport, where Rodriguez allegedly stabbed his roommate, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez mentioned that he and his roommate had a disagreement regarding the amount of fuel purchased for their shared vehicle. According to reports, the individual admitted to authorities that they proceeded to take hold of a kitchen knife and inflict four stab wounds upon the victim.
According to PCSO, a witness intervened by grabbing Rodriguez in a bear hug to halt the attack. After the incident, the witness promptly took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
According to authorities, Rodriguez initially asserted that he acted in self-defense when he stabbed the victim. However, he later admitted to the crime. The individual was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and faced charges of attempted second-degree murder.
