Sacramento, CA- An indictment charging Jordan Hughes, 24, of Sacramento with production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material was handed down by a federal grand jury.
The announcement was made by the United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert. The indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury.
According to the materials filed in the court, Hughes was successful in persuading at least two minors to submit him photographs and videos of themselves engaged in sexually explicit behavior between the months of February and September 2022.
Hughes was also responsible for the distribution of images of child sexual abuse activity, and in November of 2022, he was found to be in possession of child sexual abuse material, which included photographs of at least four minor victims participating in sexually explicit behavior.
Hughes faces a possible statutory punishment of thirty years in jail and a fine of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for each count of producing material that constitutes child sexual abuse if he is found guilty.
Any sentence, on the other hand, would be decided by the court at its own discretion, after taking into account any relevant statutory criteria and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a variety of different circumstances.
The allegations are merely allegations, and the defendant is deemed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
