For repeatedly sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl, a man from Summerville has been sentenced to twenty years in jail.
Christian Vanderhoof, 26, has been found guilty of two charges of third-degree criminal sexual behavior according to solicitor David Pascoe.
“We must continue to believe our children,” said Chief Deputy Solicitor Kelly Amell LaPlante, prosecutor of the case. “The only reason we were able to prosecute this case is because of a brave little girl and her parents who fully believed her when she told them what had happened. We’re so grateful for this family’s support of their child, each other, and our office’s efforts to bring Mr. Vanderhoof to justice.”
Pascoe claims that Vanderhoof stayed out of trial by pleading guilty before Honorable Maite Murphy.
The Solicitor’s Office appreciates the efforts on this matter by Sergeant Detective Leta Boehler and the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
Right now he is jailed at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
