6-year-old Molested by Another Student in School; Victim’s Mother Files Lawsuit against School in Florida

One of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed against the Jackson County School Board is a mother who claims that her daughter, who is six years old, was sexually molested on multiple occasions by another student.

In the lawsuit, it is said that the incidents occurred at the Marianna K-8 school between the months of August 2023 and October 10th, 2023.

According to the civil case, the girl was sexually assaulted at least four times by a student who was six years old while they were both sitting on a couch in the classroom. Apparently, a blanket was placed over them to protect them.

In this case, it is said that the teacher was present in the classroom and should have taken measures to avoid the sexual assaults. In addition, it is stated that she was negligent in her role as an employee of the school board because she failed to provide a safe and secure environment for the pupils and her failure to monitor them in the appropriate manner.

On the 24th of June, the lawsuit was introduced as reported by MyPanhandle News.

Steve Benton, the superintendent of schools for Jackson County, was contacted by News 13 and informed that he has not yet been served with the lawsuit. He declined to comment until he was familiar with the document. Although we have looked for any indication of a criminal inquiry into these allegations, we have not been successful in doing so.
