6-year-old Died after Car Jumped Traffic Light and Crashed in Another Car at Busy Road in Palmdale: California Authorities Reveal

Honk News (Palmdale, CA) – A tragic incident has occurred in California, resulting in the death of a 6-year-old girl after a driver jumped a red light at a crowded intersection.

On Saturday, January 25, at approximately 11:00 a.m. local time, authorities from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the scene of a traffic accident occurring at the intersection of Pearblossom Highway and 25th Street East in Palmdale, as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A preliminary investigation has shown that a 55-year-old woman operating a 2022 gray Subaru Outback “entered the intersection of Pearblossom Highway to head north on Barrel Springs Road while the traffic signal was red.”

A collision occurred involving the woman’s vehicle and a 2014 Toyota Camry, which reportedly “entered the intersection on a green traffic signal,” according to the department.

“A 6-year-old female passenger of the Toyota succumbed to her injuries at a local area hospital,” the Sheriff’s Department said.

Others involved in the accident suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious. The names of the individuals involved in the accident remain undisclosed, as does the overall count of those affected.
