A man from New Hampshire has admitted guilt to charges related to child exploitation, following incidents of sexual assault against a child and the creation of photographic evidence of the abuse, according to officials.
David Eddy, 59, from Manchester, has entered a guilty plea to one count of producing child sexual abuse images and one count of possessing such images, as stated by the U.S. attorney’s office before a U.S. District judge in New Haven, Connecticut. Authorities indicated that state charges are forthcoming.
Court documents and testimonies reveal that Eddy committed sexual abuse against a 5-year-old girl in September 2022, subsequently capturing images of the abuse on his cellphone.
Following the confiscation of his cellphone by authorities, prosecutors revealed that Eddy was discovered with over 150 images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, involving the 5-year-old victim as well as other young victims of sexual exploitation.
Authorities announced that Eddy could be sentenced to at least 15 years behind bars for creating child sexual abuse images. Prosecutors have indicated that he could face an extra maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars for having images related to child sexual abuse.
The date for Eddy’s sentencing remains unannounced.
