5-month-old Brutally Beaten by Father; Injuries Left Baby Unable to Talk and Walk for Life as Father Heads for Life Imprisonment in Texas

According to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, a man who is 36 years old was given a sentence of life in prison on Monday for causing harm to his child.

Frank Hughes, who is 36 years old, was found guilty of causing serious bodily injury to a child in April. This occurred after Hughes made the decision to have his case tried before Judge Joel Perez of the 437th District Court.

A newborn infant belonging to Hughes, who was five months old at the time, was discovered by emergency personnel in August of 2021. Hughes reported to the authorities that the infant was having trouble breathing while they were eating in the restaurant.

The newborn, on the other hand, was discovered to be suffering from significant brain bleeding, many fractures, and bleeding in the retina, according to the announcement.

By providing the infant with continuing medical attention, the doctors were able to nurse the child to recovery.

During the course of the investigation, Hughes and another parent denied any involvement in the injuries sustained by the child, claiming that the injuries had been there from the moment the child was born.

KSAT reported that the child can’t walk or speak for life as a result of the damage given to him by his father.
