On December 11, 2024, officers in Kirksville responded to a residence in connection with a call to the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline.

According to probable cause statements, a call was placed regarding a four-and-a-half-year-old girl who was said to be unresponsive at her residence.

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl was taken from her home by the Missouri Children’s Division due to severe diaper rash that indicated neglect.
