4-year-old Baby Girl Brutally Stabbed by Aunt during Babysitting in New Jersey; Father Relieved after Baby Girl woke Up in Hospital

In a shocking turn of events, just weeks after an aunt was alleged to have stabbed her 4-year-old niece “multiple times” while babysitting in New Jersey, the victim’s father is left reeling. Prosecutors have now moved forward with charges, including attempted murder and additional counts.

Authorities have reported that law enforcement in Paterson responded to a residence close to East 24th Street and 10th Avenue on the afternoon of August 23 following allegations of a stabbing involving a 4-year-old girl. Officials reported that the girl sustained “multiple stab wounds” and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital.

During an interview with a local ABC station, the girl’s father, Faherem LaSane, expressed that he was left “dumbfounded” and “shocked” by the incident. He revealed that his daughter, Amber, suffered a punctured lung and liver due to the stabbing. The father reminisced about the happiness he experienced when his daughter finally opened her eyes in the hospital, noting how she began to make eye contact as soon as she recognized his voice.

A witness to the scene following the stabbing described seeing the girl with a significant injury on her forehead while her mother carried her out of the house that day.

In the meantime, according to prosecutors, Campechano remained elusive and was ultimately apprehended on Monday, a month later.

Officials have yet to clarify the circumstances surrounding the outbreak of violence, only indicating that a disagreement occurred. However, it appears there were potential indicators regarding the defendant’s mental condition. Residents in the area identified Campechano as an individual who often conversed with herself while outside.

The current situation involves the defendant facing multiple charges, with the most severe being first-degree attempted murder. Campechano is also dealing with a charge related to weapon possession and another concerning child endangerment.
