Albany, New York: The Albany County District Attorney’s Office reports that Ernest Legree, 20, of Albany, entered a plea of guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and was sentenced to ten years in state prison.
Legree’s guilty plea resolved a four-count indictment, according to the DA’s Office, which included three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of attempted murder.
In November 30, 2022, Legree was allegedly in possession of an illegal pistol when he fired a gun at an occupied vehicle near Lark and Orange streets, attempting to kill someone else. According to Albany Police, nobody was hurt in the incident.
Legree was suspected of stealing packages from residences close to Lancaster Street and Washington Avenue in 2021, and as a result, he was wanted on more than 20 warrants.
Legree was also under arrest, according to the police, for thefts that were reported to have occurred at the Delaware Avenue CVS between August 22, 2021, and November 14, 2021.
