Honk News (FLORISSANT, MO) – Authorities are ramping up their search efforts following a distressing account from a 19-year-old woman in Ohio who experienced assault, abduction, and theft.
She further alleged that she was held without clothing in a basement against her consent. Late Friday night, December 27, an event occurred on Beardsley Street in Akron, Ohio.
According to Capt. Michael Miller, a local CBS affiliate was informed that the victim was deceived into going to the house by people she thought were her friends. Miller reported that upon arriving at the location, she was taken hostage by three attackers who inflicted harm upon her.
“It is very humiliating. Very traumatizing we imagine, for this young woman, this victim. Very disappointing too that the people involved would commit this crime,” Capt. Miller expressed his dismay. As per the authorities, the young lady presumably broke free from her confinement, fled the property unclothed, and sought assistance.
Authorities have confirmed that the unsettling sequence of incidents was recorded on video, but they have not revealed any specific information about the footage. “To be subjected to walk any distance in that physical condition, let alone disrobed, not dressed. Essentially nude or near-nude is humiliating,” Miller expressed.
A kind-hearted individual seemingly observed the unclothed girl wandering down East South Street, intervened to assist, and reached out to the authorities, according to the police report.
During a discussion with reporters, a source who wished to remain unnamed disclosed their experience with law enforcement at a nearby gas station. “I just gave a young woman a ride.” She strolled down the street in the nude. She reported that someone attacked her and stole from her. “I’ve got her in the car here,” the individual communicated according to the police dispatcher’s report.
“I am pulling over to the BP right here. She is butt-naked. She has nothing on. Thank God we have a community out there and people that care enough to step in and give some aid and help,” Miller expressed. Akron Police confirmed the arrest of one girl, identified as 19-year-old Kendill Worthy, in relation to this assault.
According to Miller, the woman sustained injuries to her face and head as a result of the attack. Worthy is reportedly held in the Summit County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.
Detectives continue their search for the remaining two individuals connected to the case. “This may not even, in fact, be limited to just three people that participated in the assault,” asserts Miller. “There may have been some other people with knowledge or perspective that the detectives may want to talk to. We want to hold, in the end, any and everyone responsible.”
