New Jersey’s ANCHOR program allows residents to receive up to $1750 in relief to help with the increasing living costs in the United States. However, what is the deadline for applying for this program?
The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters stimulus check is designed to provide relief from property tax for residents who meet specific income criteria and either own or rent property in New Jersey.
Eligibility for Payments
Eligibility for the benefit in 2024 will depend on residency, age, and income information from 2021 tax returns. To qualify, applicants should have a gross income under $250,000 as of 2021 and must have owned or occupied their primary residence as of January 9, 2021.
What is the Amount?
Applicants who meet all the criteria can receive between $1000 and $1750 if applying as homeowners, or between $450 and $700 if applying as renters or tenants.
The initiative provides significant support to residents of New Jersey, including Americans and legal immigrants, in response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has led to swift inflation globally since late 2019.
Last Date for ANCHOR
Payments for the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters program will start in October 2024 and will be distributed on a rolling basis. Applicants can expect to wait around 90 days from their submission to receive their payment.
The deadline for updating existing information was September 15, so New Jersey will now distribute payments using the banking and address details they currently have on file.
Applications for the stimulus check will remain open until Saturday, November 30, 2024, after which no further applications will be accepted.
Warning: New Jersey will not request personal information through text messages/SMS about the ANCHOR benefit. If you have any doubts about information requests, it’s best to reach out to the ANCHOR program for clarification before providing any details.
