According to an arrest warrant, a local guy who is facing charges of sexual assault is suspected of molesting a girl who was 15 years old while she was sleeping.
A local man named Daniel Valerio was caressing the victim while she was sleeping, according to the warrant. The victim informed authorities that she woke up to the sensation of his touching her.
The charges against Valerio, who is 51 years old, include sexual assault in the fourth degree as well as two counts of causing injury to a minor.
On April 1, the police received a report of sexual assault, as stated in the warrant that justified his detention. A warrant claimed that the victim had a meeting with the police at the department and that during the meeting, they discussed specific instances that included Valerio.
After that, she took part in a forensic interview at the Danbury Child Advocacy Centre, where she provided a more in-depth explanation of each of them, as stated in the warrant.
According to the warrant, she indicated that Valerio kissed her on the lips while he was partially clothed and lying on her bed. This was the first occurrence for which she described the incident.
Following that, she went on to recount the event that took place on March 30. She stated that she woke up to Valerio caressing her below her clothing, as stated in the warrant. According to the warrant, as she opened her eyes, she heard Valerio cry “oh my God,” and she watched him flee out of the room and into the bathroom.
In addition, the warrant stated that the girl shared that she had instantly sent a message to her sister in order to inform her about what had occurred.
In a different incident, the child stated that Valerio struck her buttocks while they were engaging in “play fighting,” as stated in the warrant.
According to the warrant, Valerio denied touching the girl inappropriately while she was wearing her clothes before the police questioned him about the claims. On the other hand, he agreed to slapping the girl on the buttocks and stated that the kiss he applied to her was a “happy birthday kiss,” as stated in the warrant.
