Honk News (Marion County, FL) – A 14-year-old male has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the horrific sexual assault of a 91-year-old woman during a nighttime incident.
Jesse Stone, now 15, was just 14 when he committed the offense. He has been credited with 237 days of time served and will face 30 years of probation as a registered sex offender following his incarceration. Ultimately, he will find himself as an older individual by the time he completes his full term.
Authorities in Marion County, Florida, reported that Stone unlawfully entered the woman’s residence while she was asleep and assaulted her. The video reveals detectives questioning him regarding his DNA at the location. He admitted guilt as an adult to one charge of sexual assault by a minor against a victim older than 12, as well as one count of burglary of a residence involving battery.

At the hearing on Friday, the state highlighted the particularly brutal aspects of the assault. She remarked that the woman had once shown great kindness to Stone.
“This was a woman that only ever showed him loving-kindness throughout his time living in the neighborhood with her,” prosecutor Katrina Self said.
The woman expressed that she had viewed the defendant as a friend, she noted.
In the course of the assault, Stone obscured the woman’s vision by placing a pillow over her face. He had the potential to suffocate her, and he persisted in holding her down even after she fought back, Self stated. The state further asserted that Stone had “sexual intent.”
“This was not him simply panicking,” Self said, adding that Stone’s actions were intentional decisions.
“His actions are egregious and the victim in this case is lucky to be alive under these circumstances,” Judge Lisa Herndon said when she set out to sentence Stone.
Defense attorney Jonathan Mills highlighted the youth of the 15-year-old and pointed out the absence of any previous criminal record.

“His brain was nowhere near fully developed when this incident happened,” the attorney said.
Mills characterized Stone as a young person who struggled with an obsession with explicit content and was missing a paternal influence in his life. He asserted that his client felt deep regret. Highlighting strong academic performance — As and Bs — the attorney further contended that Stone was receptive to sex offender rehabilitation.
