13-year-old Molested at Knifepoint by Robber in New York City; Suspect Escaped leaving Girl Traumatized after Assault

Two 13-year-olds were threatened with a knife that looked like a machete, and their hands were tied together with shoelaces before the man raped a girl in a Queens park on Thursday, police said.

At a news conference on Friday, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said, “This event is a parent’s worst nightmare.”

Around 3 p.m., the suspect met the teens on a field in Kissena Park near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue and told them to follow him into the woods, according to Joseph Kenny, chief of detectives for the NYPD.

Kenny said, “When they said no, he told them to shut up.”

He then pulled out a big knife that looked like a blade and made the boy and girl follow him into the woods. Police said the guy then used a shoelace to tie their wrists together and then raped the girl.

Kendall said the attacker then took their phones and told them to wait in the area for 20 minutes before leaving.

These people were classmates who went to the park after school to play soccer. They then went back to campus to tell what happened. Police say that within minutes, a lot of agents rushed to the scene and found the shoelace and the suspect’s water bottle. On Friday, the NYPD’s Crime Scene Unit kept looking in the park.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry said that police will also use two drones to look around the area and put cameras around the park.

The man was in his 20s, short, had curly hair, and had braces on his teeth. He also had a tattoo on his chest of a bull or pig with red eyes. He wore red boots and a green backpack the last time he was seen.
