12-Year-Old Girl Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Father to Death After Heated Argument; Killer Girl made False Story of Break-in

A 12-year-old girl in North Las Vegas is under suspicion for fatally stabbing her father after a dispute.

Officers from the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to a welfare check at an apartment on Mercury Street around 9:30 p.m. Friday, where they discovered a 55-year-old man lying dead on the floor, covered in blood.

A 911 call revealed that the family expressed concerns about the 12-year-old girl suspecting her father’s death following a break-in. Upon the police’s arrival at the apartment, they discovered no indications of “significant” physical injury to the girl or any evidence of forced entry.

A young girl has been taken into custody at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on allegations of murder involving a deadly weapon, according to police reports. Authorities have identified her as the only suspect in the case.

According to police, the girl allegedly informed them that she and her father had a “disagreement” earlier that evening concerning a disciplinary matter. The identities of the deceased father and his 12-year-old daughter remain undisclosed by authorities.

Authorities revealed that the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to the girl’s residence in December following reports of a missing child and a domestic issue.
