The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against two individuals for their alleged involvement in a retail theft scheme that resulted in the theft of thousands of dollars worth of products from nearby Target and Home Depot stores.
Chris Hawkins, 37, and Thianna Robinson, 23, are the suspects, according to the sheriff’s office, who added that their Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Working Group made arrangements to purchase stolen goods from them.
Hawkins was detained when he allegedly met with detectives to sell the stolen goods, according to the authorities.
More than $8,000 worth of goods, including a “staggering” number of tools, electronics, and other stuff, were discovered piled under blankets on his living room floor by investigators who had acquired an order to investigate his residence.
Hawkins was detained on several accusations, according to the sheriff’s office, including trafficking in stolen property and retail theft of at least $3,000.
A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Robinson. Anyone with information is requested to inform the police at 813-247-8200.
