16-year-old Boy among 50 Others Infected by HIV; Man Sentenced after pleading Guilty for spreading HIV in Idaho

Boise, ID: A man from Idaho got 30 years in prison for “desiring to have sexual contact with both men and teenage boys in order to give them HIV.”

Alexander Louie, who is 34 years old, was given a prison term on May 6 that includes 16 years of hard time before he can get parole.

The judge called Louie “the Webster’s definition of a predator” when he handed down his sentence for his felony charges, which included sharing bodily fluids with the HIV virus as per the ABC News.

Ada County Prosecutor Jan M. Bennetts said Louie, who has HIV, admits to having “sexual relations with 30 to 50 different men and boys, including a 16-year-old.”

Bennetts also said At that time, Louie wasn’t taking his medicine Louie took a deal and pleaded guilty to three felonies, including sexual battery on a child and enticing a kid through the internet. By accepting the guilty pleas, the prosecutors dropped six crimes.

Authorities started looking into Louie in August 2023, when he started chatting online with someone he thought was a 15-year-old boy but was actually a Sheriff’s agent working undercover. For the purpose of having sex with the teenager, Louie set up a meeting. The investigation then found dozens of crimes, such as trying to intentionally infect others with HIV through bodily fluids.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say that HIV, which stands for “human immunodeficiency virus,” “attacks the body’s immune system.” People who have HIV can’t get better, and if they don’t get treatment, the virus can turn into AIDS, which is stage 3 of HIV. People usually get the virus from sexual contact and body fluids.
