On January 14, 2020, the third installment of YOU was confirmed. After an ambiguous end in season 2, we will explore additional twists in the lives of Joe and his new partner, named Love Quinn.
It comes after Netflix confirmed that in 2021 season 3 will release.
After Joe Goldberg’s actor Penn Badgley had stated that viewers should expect another episode of psychological thriller, the streaming network ordered a third season.
Netflix did not state the exact release date for You season 3. Though it was announced that ten new episodes will arrive in 2021 at the time of the renewal.
In January, the official Twitter account for the show tweeted a word video, simply saying “New Year, New You,” for your pseudo-self-improvement discourse. The work officially began for the third season even before the news broke out.
On Friday, February 7, producer Sera Gamble on Twitter confirmed that work has started on You season 3. Although the viewers have to wait over a year before they can check on Joe and Love’s life.
It’s good to know that Netflix won’t further cancel its original shows.
The only confirmed cast as of now is Penn Badgley as lovesick serial killer Joe Goldberg and Victoria Pedretti the evenly murderous girlfriend Love Quinn.
The continued presence of Love in Joe’s life was quite clear, considering how the pair ended in an unholy reconciliation during the finale of the second season.
Hopefully, from season 2, we will see the return of the whole Quinn family and her friends. YOU series will seemingly continue to be set in Los Angeles for a predicated future.
Season 2 of the show had drastically raised the melodrama and didn’t follow the books by introducing a new shocking character.
The highlight moment, was when it was revealed that Love is also an obsessive lover who had intentions to murder like Joe for her love life.
Netflix’s psychological dark romance is indeed a cut-throat thriller. So, we need to wait for a year to see how this bloodshed romance blossoms.
