This holiday season Netflix premiered several different series and while some of them won the audience’s hearts and made their way to the top of the list …some series just couldn’t make it to the list. This is the case with Netflix’s new series released during the holidays ” Merry Happy Whatever”. There have been mixed opinions about this web drama. While some people seemed to have enjoyed the festive spirit showcased in the series, some thought it was nothing special and somewhat overrated.
Despite the mixed opinion about this festive series, there has been speculation of a possible season. However, Netflix has not yet renewed any official status but fans and critics believe that it can be released as a holiday web series or as an annual Christmas release alike another holiday such as the 4th of July or Halloween.
Merry Happy Whatever is a traditional family sitcom that did not rise to prominence, possibly due to its unusual season structure. While most shows take place over a year or so, this series’ entire season is jam-packed into one week, during Christmas time. However, it can’t be denied that it has quite the storyline as it depicts the story of super tight-knit Quinn family as they celebrate Christmas together.
Bridgit Mendler plays Emmy, the youngest of the four Quinn siblings. She brings her boyfriend Matt home for the holidays, where she has to face the intense scrutiny of the tough to please Quinn patriarch Don.
Thus season one ends with Matt winning Don over and depicts the ending of all festive activities. But this not the end of the story for the Quinn family they have a lot more to say. While season 2 has not been announced yet the writers of the show believe that the calendar is filled with plenty of other holidays that the series could follow. Thus it is safe to say that the return of the second season of the show is still skeptical.
