Why Nicki Minaj ask for mercy in bother’s case? Jelani Maraj gets 25 years

Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj was sentenced to 25 years to life behind bars on Monday for repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter- as judge laced into him for “ruining” the girl.

The victim’s brother is reported to have witnessed Jelani raping her sister and he took the matter straight to her school’s officials.

Before his sentencing, Jelani pleaded for mercy as he blamed his actions on his drinking problems.

The victim who is her stepdaughter bravely told the court that the abuse led her to become suicidal.

As per the reports, Nicki wrote the judge for begging a more lenient sentence.

The judge said “his heart was like a ‘stone’ when it came for mercy from those who all advocated on Miraj’s behalf, which had letters from the defendant’s sister and all other supporters.

Nicki had described his brother as “the most patient, gentle, genuine, selfless and giving man who came to my mother rescue when she met with domestic violence so that we could sleep peacefully at night.”

In the letter, Nicki accused the victim’s mother of trying to urge her and asked the judge to show mercy to her brother and writes “rethink punishing for something he did not do.”
