When is The Last Kingdom Season 4 Release on Netflix? What will happen?

Here’s all you need to know about The Last Kingdom :

The Last Kingdom is a British historical fiction Television series based on Bernard Cornwell’s ” The Saxon Stories” series novel.

The first series of eight episodes premiered on 10 October 2015 on BBC America and BBC Two in the UK in March 2017, Co-produced by Netflix after the exit of BBC America.

The series turned out to be a huge success and managed to gain a huge fan base in a very short period of time. Thus the fans were really happy when the series was renewed for a fourth season as confirmed by Netflix on 26th December 2018.

The story focuses on the invasion of England, captured by the Danes, Uhtred, a young successor of Saxon earldom, and raise him as their own. Years later Uhtred’s loyalties are put to test by the Danes.

There has been a synopsis about The Last Kingdom. After the death of Alfred, the alliance between the two kingdoms is tainted. Uhtred takes this opportunity to challenge his uncle, Alfric and hopes to take back his ancestral home, Bebbanburg.

However, fate shifts things into a different direction altogether, leading Uhtred to believe that his destiny is tied to Alfred’s dream of a united land.

Moreover, it is also about Uhtred’s feelings for Aethelflaed, which drives him back to the twisted world of politics that was likely to break out into a war.

It appears to us that the creator of the show, Stephen Butchard is diverting from the source material, which would have involved a ten-year time jump. Thus The Last Kingdom season 4 is expected to gobble its way through two of Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories installments per season.
