Seems like Cardi B had so much fun in her movie debut that she has already signed on to another.
After making a widely acclaimed if brief appearance in Hustlers, the rapper has now seemingly joined the team of Fast & Furious 9.
Cardi B enlists Fast franchise maestro Vin Diesel in his newest Instagram post from a set. “Day 86 here on the shooting of Fast 9,” Diesel says. “I know I am exhausted. I literally—we all lent every single thing we could for this film. Put it all on the furniture. Put it all out here.”
“I am tired,” Cardi interjects, receiving a laugh from Diesel. “But, I cannot wait! I am not gonna front, and I think this is going to be the decent one.” Fast & Furious six director Justin Lin will refund to direct Fast 9, which will unite franchise stalwarts Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Ludacris again.
Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron will also duplicate their roles from the eighth installment, The Fate of the Furious. In expansion to Cardi B and Ozuna, learners will comprise John Cena, Finn Cole, and Anna Sawai. But neither Dwayne Johnson nor Jason Statham will occur now that their characters, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, have received their spin-off.
A diplomat for Universal Pictures did not immediately react to V.F.’s request for testimony regarding Cardi B’s casting.
But earlier this month, the rapper did disclose during an Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance that she would be shooting another movie role this particular month. (“I admire the checks!” she quipped.)
The news of her casting arrives on the heels of another musician enlisting the Fast nine cast: On Monday, it was declared that Puerto Rican pop star Ozuna would also make an appearance and participate in the soundtrack.
It is not clear if Cardi B will give rise to any musical contributions to the movie, but we can all hope.
