Westworld Season 3 Villain: Who Is Serac?

Every story has a villain a mastermind. Who strongly believes in his agenda and doesn’t reveal himself early on.

And that’s the introduction to enigmatic and suave Engerraund Serac, the main antagonist of Westworld season 3.

Vincent Cassel portrays Serac in Westworld season 3 with charisma.

He is one of the co-creators of the very intelligent super-computer Rehoboam. Another being, Liam Dempsey Sr. who is currently out of action, locked up.

There isn’t much information available about Serac until now.

But he is perceived to be the ventriloquist for major and minor events alike. Only occasional references to him as “He-who-shall-not-be-named” in previous episodes(“Parce Domine”).

This season the stakes are getting higher and of course, Serac isn’t interested in his plans going haywire because of our lead character Dolores.

In Season 3, Episode 2 we witness the interaction between him and Mauve. Wherein, it is revealed that he is expecting Mauve to join hands with him to eliminate Dolores.

Coming back to Dolores, who is heading the revolution against Incite Inc. and wants to destroy Rehoboam and has finally ventured into the real world.

She stumbles upon some confidential Incite Inc. files and draws some shocking revelation. This causes her to form a rebellion.

The Westworld season 3 premiere taunts Serac’s relevance when Incite’s Martin Connells identifies Liam’s new girlfriend as a mole and plans to kill her.

After Dolores kills of various Incite henchman – a moment that’s procured by Pulp’s “Common People” – she hunts down Connells and discovers about a mysterious man named Serac.

Serac’s Role In Westworld Season 3

Serac references a war that nobody knows about yet, and suggests that it’s already been lost. He claims humanity is “a miserable little band of thugs,”. He then declares that history has an author now unlike before.

He’s identified a new divergence that obstructed Rehoboam, and that there’s someone he “hasn’t account for” (Dolores).

This season, thus far, is gravitating towards man vs machine theme. The wildcard, it seems, is Bernard Lowe, who may join Dolores in her battle.
