The MCU is expanding in a post Avengers: Endgame with WandaVision and with eight new Marvel shows on Disney Plus. Among the first wave of shows coming to the house of mouse’s streaming platform is WandaVision, which series co-lead by Paul Bettany characterises as bonkers and which the Marvel head Kevin Feige has teased as a project unlike anything done previously in the MCU.
WandaVision Plot and Storyline
Now, considering Vision is still very much dead post- Avengers Endgame, the series already raises a lot of questions about what is going on with the story. With the infinity stone destroyed, how much of Vision is left to see?
Can he be repaired or be revived? Between Spiderman Far From Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we know that the concept of the multiverse is real in MCU , so that offers one potential explanation as to how exactly WandaVision- and some other upcoming series and movies, for that matters- fits into the wider MCU.
WandaVision Release Date
During the San Diego Comic Con 2019 panel, it was announced that WandaVision would arrive on Disney Plus in spring 2021 just before the arrival of Doctor Strange. However, Disney announced on Jan 2020 via a teaser that WandaVision would instead be released sometime in 2020 only.
The production and filming for WandaVision began in Nov 2019 and the first season is likely wrapped on filming as Disney Plus prepares for the release.
Previously, it was announced that during Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic Con 2019 panel WandaVision would be released on Disney Plus in spring 2021, but before the Doctor Strange movie. But Disney has surprised us all when it revealed that the show was going to arrive this year itself.
