System Shock 2 is getting an awsome edition from the developer Knightdive Studios. The team of System Shock 2 announced that its plans to update the 1999 immersive sim during a post on Twitter last night and Livestream on Twitch.
It relied on KnightDrive’s work to release an enhanced version of the first system shock in 2015.
Nightwood has not provided much information about System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. You should expect clean visuals, support for modern performances, and other general improvements. However, do not expect a complete visual overhaul from this version.
Knightdale is also working on a remake of the original System Shock. It is built into the Unreal Engine and looks like a contemporary release. But if the studio is doing something like this, it will surely come after the launch of the enhanced version.
System Shock 2 is one of the defining games of the PC platform in the 1990s. It gives you a world and a set of skills, and then it shows you how to solve various problems. Its design is impressive to this day in an immersive sim like Dumordord 2, Pre (2017).
Of course, Knightdive is still working on its system shock remake. The company has launched a crowdfunding campaign in 2016 that raised $ 1.35 million.
What about System Shock 3?
Apart from all this, the developer Otherside Entertainment is still working on System Shock 3. The Founder Warren Spector, who was in charge of the original Looking Glass development team, says the game is again coming. The third entry in this series still does not have a release date, however.
However, in March, Spector revealed that his team was building the game with the Unity game engine.
