Three People Are Injured in a Buggy-van Accident

Several persons were hurt in a hit-and-run traffic accident involving a buggy that occurred in northeast Daviess County on Wednesday afternoon.

In an incident reported by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, a northbound buggy, which was operating in the buggy lane on CR 1000 E., was sideswiped by a northbound Dodge minivan at the CR 1000 N. junction at around 1 p.m.

Rosann Wagler, 24, of Odon, was driving the buggy, which was said to have been pushed off the road by deputies. In the meanwhile, the vehicle did not come to a halt.

Wagler and two children, aged one and two, were rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where they were believed to be in stable condition, according to authorities.

The Odon region was searched for around four hours before the sheriff’s department was able to locate the van’s driver, according to reports.

“We think the motorist involved in the collision was a minor who did not have a driver’s license,” Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison said in a statement. “It’s possible that there were some illicit drugs involved as well. In the meantime, he will stay with his family while we prepare the charges.”
