The Witcher season 2 has cast its Philippa Eilhart, the powerful sorceress and advisor to a warrior, who plays a significant part in the Witcher games and books, based on Redanian Intelligence. Philippa Eilhart will be performed with Cassie Clare, who has had roles in a handful of musical movies such as Beauty and the Beast and Mamma Mia!
From The Witcher matches, Philippa plays a part in the Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – depending on how you play with it, she could be a major antagonist in the first sequel and a helpful ally in the next match, working with Geralt, Ciri, along with Yennefer from the Wild Hunt. Oh, and she gets her eyes gouged out in the second game, therefore why her eyes stay covered for much of The Witcher 3.
However, Philippa Eilhart plays an even bigger role in Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher books: she is a key political player who has embroiled in Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer’s struggles – although she does not have very many lines of dialogue within them. Once King Vizimir of Redania’s advisor, she stays on the court after he dies (likely by her hand) and attempts to expand her influence in the region.
Without giving too much of what will likely happen in The Witcher Netflix series away, Eilhart contributes a significant coup against other sorcerers to resist Nilfgaardian spies entering their ranks. She remains a significant political player, even with an affair with a man to remain in the loop (despite losing her preference for men hundreds of years ago). She’s also continuous transparency to Yennefer, who quite frankly can’t stand her.
