The Witcher is an American fantasy drama web television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix, that released on 20th December. It is based on the book series of the same name by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The plot is set in a medical world on a landmass known as the Continent. The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia ( Henry Cavill), a solitary monster hunter, who finds his destiny linked to Sorceress Vennefer Princess Cirilla ( Freya Allan).
The first season is based on the last wish and sword of destiny, a collection of stories that preceded the main witches’ saga. Moreover, the first season explores formative events that shaped the three lead characters, before their first encounters with each other.
The series has been captivating some serious attention and already has quite the fan following, ever since it dropped on 20th December. Throughout the season, viewers have waited patiently to see what was to come of Geralt ( Henry Cavill), Yennefer ( Anya Charlotra) and Princess Ciri ( Freya Allen) whose lives were destined to collide.
However, it took the season finale to discover that our three main characters are playing out as separate timelines. But it seems like things are finally beginning to intertwine with Cori’s mission to find the monster slayer and the adventure finally appears to be successful after they meet in the woods and he fled to Canberra.
Geralt, who suffered a nasty bite while in a fight with a monster was saved by a man whose wife, unknown to us and both of them, had taken in Ciri after she fled the castle grounds on the demand of her grandmother Quee Calanthe. Yennefer is someone that Geralt had met before and possibly had feelings for, she becomes convinced that he has used a wish on a Djinn to get her fall for him too. However, she returns to Cintra to keep the castle seige.
Raising an important question, where is she now? Thus the rumor has it that that’s where the show will probably be starting when it returns for its second season.
