The King: Eternal Monarch Season 2 Updates: This Netflix featured South Korean drama is a romantic fantasy series with much of an emotional trigger for the audience.
Topping the list of the most anticipated series in the first half of 2020, this is a major hit for its ensemble cast and its rare storyline which involves a modern-day Emperor traveling back and forth through the barrier of two parallel world’s with alternating realities.
But it has been a long 3 months since S1 took off and it seems that the hiatus will be much longer before it drops the next season. Although the series starring Lee Min-ho and Kim ho-eun is too far to move on to its next chapter, the fans still have their fingers crossed.
About its slope of success
This show had a hard time gearing up as it started off with poor domestic reviews but still managed to gain major publicity overseas as it had a viewership rating of 11.6% on it’s a very second episode which went down further to 5.2% on the 11th ep. Nevertheless, it notched the top rank on Netflix while airing in countries like HongKong, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
The King: Eternal Monarch Season 2 Cast
The renewal for S2 confirms the returning of some cast members, if not the entirety. Many existing names of Jung Hyeon as ‘young Lee Gon’, Kim Go-Sun as ‘Jung’, Tae -eul as ‘Luna’, Woo do -hwan as ‘Jo Eun-Seob’, Kim Kyang -Nam as Kang Shin-ja’, Jung Run -Chae as ‘Goo Seo-Kyung’ including that of the lead actor Lee Min-hi as ‘Lee go’ have come up till now.
The major setback that curbed the S2 from going into production is the new Covid-19 pandemic. This notorious coronavirus has transformed the whole scenario cutting people off the outer world and causing an overall pernicious loss of all industries. The majority of the tv shows and movie projects have been held up for a precarious future.
Despite this, South Korea is in a state of speedy recovery as it holds the lowest position of Covid-19 cases on the worldwide monthly charts. Since the tally has plummeted to a total of 22,285 cases with 363 deaths, the South Korean Government has loosened its grip on the tough norms.
Yet, the drama enthusiasts have a long waiting to do like the chance of Netflix laying on any wonderful news on the following Season seems a bit far-fetched.
We’ll let you know as soon as we come to know of any further details, stay tuned in till then.
