The Expanse has wrapped up its fifth season on Amazon Prime Video, which aired weekly on the streaming platform beginning from mid-December.
The latest episodes of the drama, that is set in a distant future in which humanity has colonized the Solar System, concentrated primarily on the danger of Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander).
After having a catastrophic attack on Earth and the death of a longtime crew member, the stakes have never been greater heading to the (supposedly) final season.
When Is The Expanse Season 6 On Amazon Prime Video?
There are no confirmed release date for Your Expanse season 6 just yet, but the sci-fi movie has officially been revived by Amazon Prime Video for that which had originally been charged as a”satisfying finish”.
However, recent remarks from Dominique Tipper Live have sparked speculation that the series could last at a new home.
“Look, this is the conclusion of the TV show on Amazon,” she explained. “So, we will just have to see what happens.”
It would not be the first time that The Expanse has jumped ship, initially premiering on Syfy before the system cancelled it after three seasons, prompting Amazon to swoop in and insert the series on its exclusive line-up.
What Will Happen In The Expanse Season 6?
The season five finale has set the point quite well for what’s to come next, together with Marco now firmly established as one of the most dangerous characters in the universe.
All eyes will be on his next move, however, the team of the Rocinante has more bad news to deal with following the death of Alex Kamal, which had been suspected after the departure of actor Cas Anvar.
When asked if the character’s departure was always intended or composed in response to real-world allegations against Anvar, showrunner Naren Shankar insisted it was a”creative option”.
“We began realizing we’re telling a war story that wasn’t heavy because it did not have consequences,” The best way to drive those things home is when you begin speaking about losing characters that are important to this audience.”
He added: “It gave realism and price and a true sense of loss for this epic season. And from a dramatic perspective, it has tremendous effects going forward in the way in which the loss of the very important part of the Roci team hangs over each character in season 6.”
The Expanse Season 6 Cast
With the exclusion of Anvar, whose personality has been written from this series, the main cast of The Expanse is expected to return for the approaching season.
That means we could expect more from Steven Strait like James Holden, Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata, Wes Chatham as Amos Burton, Frankie Adams as Bobbie Draper and Shohreh Aghdashloo as Chrisjen Avasarala.
In addition, expect to see the return of Keon Alexander since the formidable villain Marco Inaros, that has only grown stronger since his debut in the fourth season.
