The Crown Why it will finish with Imelda Staunton in season 5

This wonderful drama series was produced by Sony Pictures Television and Left Bank Pictures. It is streamed in Netflix. As of now three seasons of this web series are out.

What the three seasons cover?

The first season of this drama series covers the period between 1947 to 1955. The events covered in this series are the marriage of the Duke of Edinburgh, Philip, and Queen Elizabeth.

Then the disintegration of Princess Margaret’s engagement with Group Captain Peter Townsend.

Who are new to season 4?

A brand new addition of Emma Corrin as Princess Diana will surely add some more fresh drama into this series.

Tobias Menzies, who plays Prince Philip says that Emma has arrived as Diana and she’s already uncanny and it’s really exciting.

He further said that it’s really interesting with series four because you can feel the younger generation taking over the show.

He said that it is really exciting that the start of the Diana story, but it’s so hard not to view it through the incredibly tragic lens that you know it’s heading towards.

Is Season 5 going to be the finale?

After The Crown’s Debut in 2016, Netflix content boss Sarandos have thought that this series would last six seasons for sure.

He further said regarding this show in an interview that this is going to take Queen Elizabeth from age 29 to, presumably, the current day and we will see it lay out over decades.

He further said that the basic idea is to do 6 seasons of this show to cover 6 decades and according to this the show might run for 8 to 10 years mostly.

At the start of the director of this show, Peter Morgan even expected that this show to reign for 6 seasons.

But now while thinking the story for season 5 he thought that it would be a good time for this show to end and for me to stop it. He further said that the series needs retrospection, research.

Moreover, he says that they don’t know the inner workings of Harry and Meghan’s life, and it’s impossible to predict what impact they will have on our culture in the future.

So he feels that it would be better to stop this series at season 5
