This is quite a strange and sad fact that “The Crown” is series is cut short to only five seasons.
In the beginning, though the director of the show, Peter Morgan thought of six seasons to portray six decades of the period.
But now the director, Peter Morgan has recently stated that he thought that it was the right time for him to make an end to this series. So the series “The Crown” is going to have only 3 seasons.
It’s the release date :
Even now the release date of season 4 is not yet decided. But from the history of releases of this series, we can conclude.
As season 1 was released in 2016, season 2 was followed again in 2017. While it took a while for the season to come in 2019.
So we can infer from this that season 4 can come in sometime between 2020 and 2021. So most probably season 5 will be somewhere in between 2021 to 2022.
Waiting two years for a season is too much, but nothing can be done as it is the season finale.
The new queen :
For the fifth and the last installment of the crown, Imelda Staunton is going to take the crown.
She was best known for her Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter. She was also part of big franchises like Doughton Abbey and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in 2019.

This show and the characters of this show have been continuously in the lights of the awards. Claire Foy who played Queen Elizabeth II in season 1 and season 2 has won the Golden Globe award for her performance.
In season 3, the queen played by Olivia Coleman also won the Golden Globe. Now she will play the last time as queen in season 4.
What’s in store in Season 5 :
The season 5 needs to cover almost two decades of the period as there is no season 6.
These include majorly the profound impact of monarchical medical problems for Queen Elizabeth II, scandals and numerous historical ceremonies and family gatherings.
They might not include the part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as nothing can be assumed about their impact in the future and written.
