After a tedious and a rocky ride through the years from 1964 to 1977 in the third season of Netflix’s worldwide hit, The Crown, consideration has gone to what will occur in season 4 of Peter Morgan’s epic vision for following the biography of Queen Elizabeth II.
The historical web series is adapted from the stage play The Audience- which is penned by Peter Morgan. It explores the life of Queen Elizabeth II, who ascended the throne at a tender age of 25 due to her father’s death.
The series depicts the personal experience of the Queen and the political intricacies which shaped the future era.
THE JOURNEY OF THE QUEEN IN SEASON 4:
The Crown took off from the period 1947 which is before the year Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh-Philip got married to 1955.
The second season focused on the period of Suez Crisis in 1956 to Prince Edward’s birth in 1964. The third installment of the series covered the period from 1964 to 1977.
Season 3 focused on the two periods of Harold Wilson as the prime minister and one of England’s dark times. Season 4 will cover the premiership of the formidable Margaret Thatcher. It will also dwell into the life of Princess Diana.
Cast And Release Date
The Crown production brings in new actors every two seasons. This means that the actors from season 3 will reprise their famed roles. Here is the cast that will portray the lead characters once more

There have been new additions to the already decorated cast with Gillian Anderson sporting the role of Margaret Thatcher who was the British Prime Minister.
Netflix has also cast Emma Corrin to play Princess Diana on the screens. Both the actors expressed their excitement via the official twitter handle of the series.
Anderson and Corrin look forward to doing justice to their iconic human-life characters and so do the fans who wait for the release of the anticipated new season with zeal.
Morgan has spanned the journey of Queen Elizabeth over six seasons with ten episodes each. The filming for season 4 began in Aug 2019 and is rumored to release in the latter half of 2020.
Likewise, the next season may be released in 2022 based on past releases. The previous installments of the show have premiered in 2016-17 and 2019-20 with a lapse of one year after every two seasons.
The Crown is worth all the accolades and appreciation. Though the show has been mildly criticized for overdramatizing some historical events yet it has been lauded on all fronts by the critics.
Olivia Colman, the renowned actor, won Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series. Her co-actress Helena Bonham Carter also secured a nomination in the same category.
