The Crown is one of the shows that has a royal touch to it. This show is the right one for you if you are a royals fan. Netflix has recently announced that the show will return with its 4th season.

The season 4 is predicted to show the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, being portrayed by Emma Corrin and Josh’O Connor respectively. There might be an element of the relationship between Queen Elizabeth II with another Prime Minister. Gillian Anderson will be seen as British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, with her story mainly focusing on her time spent in her office.

The Crown Season 4

Gillian expressed her excitement on joining the cast and crew of the Crown. “I am so delighted to be joining the cast and crew of the Crown and to have the opportunity to portray such a complicated and controversial woman,” She stated in an interview.

“Thatcher was undoubtedly formidable, but I am relishing exploring beneath the surface and, dare I say, falling in love with the icon who, whether loved or despised, defined an era,” she added. The cast from season 3 would be returning into their roles, like Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, and Ben Daniels as Anthony Armstrong-Jones.

Season 1 was released in November 2016, season 2 in December 2017 and season 3 in November 2019. Although, there has been no announcement or confirmation yet season 4 is likely to be released in the year 2020. Olivia Coleman had stated that the film’s shooting would start in August. According to other sources, the movie would be filmed between August 2019 to February 2020.

One can expect to see those old faces on the cast, but one would come across many new ones as well. “I have been glued to the show, and to think I’m now joining this amazingly talented acting family is surreal,” Said Emma Corrin, who would be featuring as Princess Diana. “Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world continues to profound and inspiring. To explore her in Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will try to do her justice!” The Crown is rumoured to continue event after four seasons.
