3 Democratic Lawmakers Announce Positive Covid-19 Tests

Three Democratic members of Congress reported on Sunday that they had coronavirus infections that have progressed to the next stage.

Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Cory Booker of New Jersey, as well as Representative Jason Crow of Colorado, all tweeted that they had tested positive for COVID-19.

They had all had COVID-19 booster doses and were experiencing minor effects, according to them.

Last Monday, before the senate went on break, Warren appeared on the Senate floor, but CNN could not confirm that Booker was there.

“I test for COVID on a regular basis, and after testing negative earlier this week, I tested positive today with a breakthrough case. Thankfully, my symptoms are minor, and I am happy for the protection against severe sickness that comes with being vaccinated and boosted “Warren sent out a tweet. “As instances spread throughout the nation, I encourage everybody who hasn’t gotten the vaccine and booster to do so as quickly as possible – collectively, we can save lives.”

“Just returned from an official congressional delegation tour to Ukraine and tested positive for a breakthrough COVID infection,” Crow said on Twitter.

The statements came as the omicron variant’s appearance has thrown the country — and the White House — back into an uncertain pandemic reality, offering both public health and political problems.

As the epidemic enters its third year, the United States is seeing a resurgence of the coronavirus: according to statistics from Johns Hopkins University, the nation was averaging 126,967 new cases per day as of Saturday, up from just over 70,000 new cases per day at the beginning of November.

According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation is poised for a difficult winter as the new variation stresses a healthcare system already strained by the delta variant.

On CNN Sunday, Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease specialist, warned of the omicron form, “It’s going to take over,” and urged Americans to be vaccinated and booster injections. “And be cautious in everything else you do: wear a mask when you go in congested indoor environments.”

Omicron instances are doubling every 1.5 to 3 days, according to the World Health Organization, with proven spread. It’s also anticipated to become the “dominant strain” in the United States in the coming weeks, according to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky.
