Months after the finale aired, The Boy’s season 2 will receive its companion podcast. Amazon Prime’s version of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s satiric comic book show first premiered in 2019 and quickly became one of the streamers largest shows yet. The Boys tackles superhero culture, imagining a world where heroes are handled like modern-day actors. But with all that power and influence includes a great deal of corruption, and the titular Boys are a bunch of vigilantes who attempt to take down the biggest supes in the world. The Boys returned for season two last fall, and a third is now in the middle of shooting.
The Boys season 2 brought the show to bigger heights, both in terms of profane antics and critical acclaim. The arrival of a new member of the Seven, Stormfront (Aya Cash), brought new challenges for the Boys to face, especially once they realized Stormfront had Nazi ties. Other major highlights from The Boys season 2 comprised the surprise return of Becca Butcher (Shantel VanSanten), the story of former Seven manhood Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore), and also the emergence of a head-popping supe, shown at the end of the season to become Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit).
To alleviate the wait until season 3, Amazon announced today they will be releasing a brand new podcast about the making of The Boys season 2. The eight-episode series, branded The Boys: The Official Podcast, will be hosted by journalist Tim Kash and will feature guests such as executive producers Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen. The podcast will also feature stars like Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, and Cash. Each one of the episodes will cover wide-ranging topics, such as the”girls get it done” struggle and that infamous whale ship crash scene.
The Boys: The Official Podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Spotify, along with other podcast programs. The first two episodes will debut on April 15, and the remainder will follow weekly, with the last episode coming on May 27. For fans who can not get enough of The Boys, or just want to revisit season 2’s greatest moments, this podcast will be a must-listen. This comes after Amazon created an after-show for season 2 hosted by Aisha Tyler; it’s clear the streamer is pleased to produce up to Boys articles as you can.
Besides the upcoming season 3, The Boys also offers a spin-off show in the works. Simply speaking, there area lot more ahead for viewers. Though its sophomore run had some major minutes, The Boys appears to go even larger next season, since it will accommodate the heavily-NSFW comics run Herogasm and present characters such as Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Small Nina (Katia Winter). The podcast may have no clues regarding where The Boys is going next, but it’ll be interesting to reminisce about what came before while waiting for season 3.
