The “Lover” leading lady Taylor Swift is in no mood to let any man outshine at her at the 2019 Billboard Women in Music event. She not only looked glamorous in a gold chain jumpsuit but marked her powerful personality by slamming Scooter Braun as she accepted her Woman of the Decade honor.
By her speech, she made it very clear that she is not going to let any man outshine her or undermine her success as a female artist. She said, “I saw that as a female in this industry, some people will always have the slightest reservations about you, Those “reservations” include “whether a male was responsible in the studio” or “whether it was a savvy record label [responsible for her success].”
She also talked about the new battle she is facing with Scooter Braun of private equity. At the podium, she said, “Lately, there’s been a new shift that has affected me personally…and as your resident loud person, I feel the need to bring it up. And that is the unregulated world of private equity, coming in and buying up our music as if it is real estate as if it’s an app or a shoe line. This has happened to me without my approval, consultation, or consent,”
At the podium, she brought her feud with Scooter and her former record label boss, Scott Borchetta, into the Billboard event. She told that Scooter purchased Scott’s record label in about $300 million, which gave Scooter the right to Taylor’s first six albums.
This news was not less than a nightmare for Taylor as she had accused him of “manipulative bullying” for years in her original response to the deal.
Well, by her speech, Taylor has embossed that she is the ultimate boss of the music industry, and it is not going to affect her all that who is the owner of her music.
