There is not any shortage of strategies games available on PC. From severe strategy games like XCOM into comedy-centric names like Worms, it is a huge genre that covers a variety of tastes. Now it’s going to grow even larger with Grand Guilds coming to Steam March 26.
In its new release date trailer, programmer Drix Studios has given us a showcase of the game. At first glance, its inspirations from the likes of XCOM’s turn-based battle are obvious, but Grand Guilds is by no means a clone.
After all, it puts an unusual center on deck construction and takes inspiration from collectible card games out there.
Each character uses a power deck that decides signature strikes and their skills. By tweaking your deck and rotating in cards, you can completely change a personality’s struggles. Handling your hands rather than wasting cards is crucial for success.
As for what you can do, Grand Guilds will possess an expansive main story and replayability. The narrative sees Eliza come back to Ozryn’s town just to see it is under assault. It is up to Eliza and her guild to look into the attacks and discover the cause.
But, there’s a deeper story to discover since the continent of borders that are Irin toward a brutal war.
As for replayability quests are procedurally created assignments that yield various benefits. Most importantly, you’ll have the ability to use these to build up the guild’s standing to bring in combat bonuses.
Grand Guilds has come a long way since its initial 2018 Kickstarter. After failing to get funding at its first attempt, Drix Studios tried again seven weeks later and managed to raise over $30,000.
The original aim of September 2019 may have been missed, however, the indie developer still ensures they will complete the match”no matter what.”
