Premiered as a Netflix Original, The Society is an American drama series that aired on May 10, 2019. The young adult drama has been a massive hit since its release and has been compared to Lord of the Flies. The show has been created by Christopher Keyser and has been renewed for a second season.
Society Season 2: When Will It Release? Who Is the Definite Cast?
There has been no official date as to when will the second season release. According to the rumours, the show was supposed to release sometime in 2020. The production began in 2019. However, the world is gripping with a pandemic which has led to vigorous shut down of many industries worldwide. It seems that we won’t have season two before 2021.
The majority of the lead cast will be returning to reprise their roles for a second season. Kathryn Newton will be returning as Allie Pressman, Sean Berdy as Sam Elliot, Natasha Bordizzo as Helena, Olivia DeJonge as Elle Tomkins, Kristine Froseth as Kelly Aldrich and Rachel Keller as Cassandra Pressman.
There will be many recurring roles that will be seen in season two. However, there is no news of new fresh faces joining the cast.
Society Season 2: What Will the Plot Entail? Is There a Trailer?
The first season saw the teenager figuring out the reality that they are living in: it was a parallel universe and hence, explains the disappearance of the citizens. The teenagers are still trying to figure out a way to go back. Meanwhile, the original West Ham is functioning regularly without teenagers.
The end scene sees a plaque hanging on a wall which says ‘We remember them’. It is in honour of all the teenagers missing with their names inscribed. But, there is no certainty if the parents have finally understood what happened to their children or they are still searching for it.
There has been no trailer as of now. It mostly releases a month or two leading up the release. Until then, stay safe!
