If anything the resentment behind console vs PC is more of a class divide than a "gamer" divide (they both play the same damn games and you can get a controller and a connection to a TV for either). Sengoku era Japan-set action RPG sequel Nioh 2 has gone gold, publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja announced.
Another disadvantage with foliage that tends to flicker, DF thinks that a lower resolution in 1440p would have been a better choice than checkerboard rendering for better IQ. No one is taking away your enjoyment of the game except yourself simply because you cant accept that it has flaws.
... Nioh 2 plays like an old gen game on current hardware. Can't wait till next gen, but then it'll happen all over again. Yeah I’m gonna wait for the PC version. In "movie mode" the game runs in 1920x1080 at 30fps with the same anti-aliasing as on PS4 Pro.
Feb 12, 2020 #2 thats a title. Movie Unlocked mode with unlocked framerate 30~60fps. Nioh 2 Quick Codes click this link here: You must login or register to view this content. I really hope we get a PS5 patch for this.
Multiple performance modes is what every single game on console needs. In "high framerate mode", even more aggressive dynamic resolution often running in 720p with the same visual effects mentioned above and which have been reduced. I hate that consoles are holding pc games back.
Woah there charlie horse.

Jan 23, 2020 Whatever mode is chosen, cutscenes are locked at 30fps, as well as the game menus. PC players just have more money to upgrade while console players just like the simplicity of the setups and cheaper cost. I honestly thought it was about twice as long as it should have been.

Still have to play the first game so it will be a while before I get to play this one. Also right now it’s only on PlayStation so Sony might keep it that way seeing as the new console is going to have higher performance and not only that earlier this year their were a lot of people using save editors on ps4 and joining lobbies and ruining peoples experience by oneshotting bosses, they prolly realize that pc would have a huge problem fixing that. So IQ wise anything aside action mode on Pro* and native (30 fps) mode on PS4 looks like garbage?
Seriously, we are at a point now that people are not buying day 1 despite that well known rush of buy something brand new and are instead opting to wait for almost a year of their life span for a better version of a toy.
Hopefully by the time I buy it next year, a patch or two will clean up performance.
Hope this will be more common on next gen. Mar 14, 2020 #17 They should do a PC release. Start a new thread to share your experiences with like-minded people. Mar 14, 2020 #16 Samusaran said: ... Nioh 1 was really fun, but the game honestly became tedious and repetitive about half way through. Lol Sony help create the game, I swear pc fans are the worse for no reason. That's the most important thing.
Regardless, it's great to see how Team Ninja has improved so much on the mechanics. Can't wait to watch this video later! I think it's likely that they release a complete edition once the last DLC drops, like they did with the first game. Also, offering a special counter to many of the previously unblockable/unparryable moves is really smart. The game doesn't look demanding at all. Lame. This is the DF topic, not the PS4 OT. I played the beta on a base PS4 and the game looked rough in action mode. Also, Ni Oh 1 wasn't a looker on PS4 already, so I would say PS4 Pro would be the way to go for this one.
The "movie unlocked mode" seems identical to the movie mode but with a dynamic resolution of 1512p (1920x1512?) You cannot call those people haters when theyre so dedicated to the point that theyll wait for months to play a new game a year later on better hardware. Game ain’t a looker regardless of mode, but it plays well on action.
FYI: theirs a YouTuber I can’t think of his name maybe someone else can comment it but he uses a save editor to get conflicting stats on gear and edits his damage values to do 60k+ dmg I and many others called him out and he’s banned me on every account from commenting and or turns his comment section of on his videos long enough to delete all the comments calling him out so yea that may be a reason they won’t bring pc but hopefully they will for y’all out there.
It's cool it has multiple modes, but I think I'll just wait for the PC mode this time around. Good lord, I am thankful for console gaming because the pc base are so entitled, everything has to be 60+ FPS or its "bad" or "looks terrible". The game will release for pc in November, Sony already stated that. That means development is complete and the game is ready for production.
and the same technical concerns.

Seems visually based of the techniques used here it doesn't look that great on either PS4 or the pro however action mode is the preferred mode of play on either. https://www.neogaf.com/threads/nioh-2-ot-yippee-ki-yokai-or-die-hard.1530852/page-2. There is no need to be a console vs. PC fanboy.
At the end of the day it's just a shame more Xbox fans won't get to experience this and promote the genre (I don't have a horse in the game, I just don't like throwing money around on different machines that all essentially do the same thing). Action or High Framerate mode to target the 60fps. I think its more of an engine limitation than a system limitation.
Ill hold off then and wait to see how the possible pc port fairs.
What? Really have zero issues with the way the game looks and plays. You must login or register to view this content.
In "movie unlocked mode" it's in dynamic resolution 900~1080 with the same graphic settings as the Pro version. We should stick and support each other, as gamers.

Dec 14, 2017 395. I guess you may not play fast paced action games often, but 60 fps makes a dramatic difference. If you like these games so such, then doesnt it makes sense in wanting them to be improved?
The "action mode" is also in checkerboard rendering with a dynamic resolution of 1600x900~1920x1080 then upscaled to 4K, however many visual effects are downgraded (reduced realtime shadow quality, more pronounced aliasing, animations of some shadows disabled, geometric details decreased, remote textures appear blurred).
I wonder if Sony is going to enable cross-play since the player base will be bifurcated.
Sounds like the way to go if you want higher framerates but don't want downgraded visuals. Banned.
Banned. I geniunely believe that this game looks great, I thought the same about Nioh 1... the shadows and image quality are what drags it down a lot, though. Jan 23, 2020 #53 Santerestil said: ... Nioh 2 is guilty of both, so the decision should've been made to go with Japanese for marketing since they didn't put enough effort into the dub. Aug 29, 2019 7,850. Just play on action.
I have seen more graphically demanding games on base ps4 at 1080p/60 fps than this. There has been no official word so far, all info I found took another article as source which it self had no official quote so they were basing themselves in Nioh 1 release schedule, I do believe we will get one some time after DLC3 releases. Wish they would improve their CB/AA solution, but nice work on the frame rate mode. Seems pretty similar to the first game, which played and look quite good on a PS4 Pro and 4K TV. Wow, that's some fine work. Saw a bit of Max playing this the other night. In "Movie mode", the game is in 4K checkerboard rendering (1920x2160c), the CB solution used here is however of questionable quality with visible artifacts. I would also recommend you familiarize yourself with the role of a publisher vs. developer when it comes to "creating" a game. I'm geniunely surprised, I didn't expect this game to be received as well as it had. Exactly, most are enjoying the game no problem but some want to make it seem like a vs thread because of no 60fps and its not native 4k. I didn't bring up pc vs console, I commented on your insinuation that this game "needs" a PC release because the ps4 version has something wrong with it. Banned. Banned. Someone should check the HDR how does it work in the game.
I honestly thought it was about twice as long as it should have been.

Glad people are helping others. I know the ps4 is a fairly old machine by now, but both this and Nioh 1 aren't exactly very good looking games. Playing on movie mode on base ps4. I wouldn’t think so, if that were true I feel like team ninja would have promoted it by now considering ps5 is only a couple weeks away.
Cut it out people.
They probably have a contract for timed exclusivity for several months or maybe until X date after all DLC's have been eleased. A game like this demands 60 fps. Movie Unlocked mode will be the way to play on PS5... should be 60fps locked and at highest resolution possible. So with the PS4 Base and the PS4 Pro having the exact same settings turned down for Action mode, other than a very slight resolution bump, the Pro gets no benefit from being the more powerful of the two?
